GEC Variable Speed DC SHUNT MOTOR and Speed Controller. The input voltage to the speed control unit can be 240volt single phase. This is a perfect combination for converting a three phase lathe to single phase. What’s included, first the motor details. Armature voltage 180vdc Armature current 9.8Amps. Field voltage 210vdc Field current 0.38Amps. Length excluding shaft 335mm. Diameter of main body 210mm. Next the speed controller. Input voltage 240vac single phase or 415vac two phase. Has connections for speed control via a 5k potentiometer. Remote On off and a tacho feedback if required. Speed controller would need to be housed in a control box , you could mount the 5k pot on the front along with the stop start and an emergency stop. Basically you need a 240 volt ac supply by way of a 13amp plug, then a five core cable from the motor to the controller. This set up is ideal for a Lathe conversion, plenty of grunt in the 1.5KW motor, single phase.
