2×72 Belt grinder built by Yorkshire Machine and tool LTD. The machine tilts to either horizontal or vertical so make sure the machine is always at the optimum ergonomic position. Tensioning and tracking is all done on one arm and it tensioned by a 200 newton gas strut. You can either grind using the flat platen to achieve accurate straight grinds for creating bevels or truing up edges, or the tool arm can be spun 180 degrees to allow access to the 6 inch rubber contact wheel, which is for hogging off large amounts of material in one go. Made from 10mm steel, plasma cut plate to ensure accuracy and consistency during manufacture. Most Grinders in the same price range are made from 6mm plate instead. The extra thickness of this model allows for a more rigid design which means less vibration goes into the work piece allowing for a more accurate, smooth grind. The Platen is made from 15mm thick steel which meaning a longer lasting plated that should last for decades before it needs replacing. Due to the thickness of the platen it can be machined again after years of use to ensure flatness. Fully adjustable speed control using an Invertek Optidrive converter which powers a 1.5KW (2HP) 3000RPM Motor ensuring nothing will slow the machine down, even under the most abusive situations. This belt grinder is made completely from solid steel, not square tubing like a lot of cheeper grinders are. This ensures rigidity while grinding and dampening of vibration as well as just generally ensuring a very long lifespan of the machine. The speed controller and motor are from quality British companies ensuring a long life time on the electrical side. Each grinder is made one by one by a small 2 man company in rural Yorkshire, Every machine is rigorously quality tested before it leaves the workshop. Can it run off of a standerd plug socket?
